Everyone is welcome!
When: Saturday, June 10 at 2:00 - 4:00 pm (Wind/Raindate: TBA)
How will it run? The Bike-a-thon will involve a few groups that will bike different routes and distances. The simplest route is to stick to the paved Trout Pond loop that is 2.4 km long. We challenge younger kids to aim for 10 km (roughly 4 laps). The Trout Pond paved loop connects to the north with a vast network of dirt trails that goes through the coulees. If you are confident and familiar and have a route you'd like to take, please let Melanie (403-332-1991) know as she is looking for leaders. Update: Lyle Ypma has offered to take a group. Hopefully we will have two groups doing more challenging and adventurous routes in this network of trails.
Where: Taber Trout Pond - Park in the parking lot. Meet in the first camping site, just north of the parking lot. Refreshments, first aid, lawn chairs and support people will be at the campsite. We will meet here to go over a few matters, take a picture and pray for Word and Deeds' projects.
Preparation: Ask family and friends to sponsor you as you plan to bike for Word and Deed projects. Two ways: 1) When you register online, an email with a sponsor record sheet link will be sent to you. Collect donations/cheques and record information on sponsor info sheet from the website. Bring to the Bikeathon. 2) After you register online for the bikeathon, direct people to the Word and Deed Bikeathon website to make a donation and tag your name as the person being sponsored as they check out.
